Leo was seven years old. Every night, he stepped into his backyard and looked up at the stars. He didn’t dream of pirates or superheroes. Instead, he dreamed of rockets, planets, and floating in space. Leo wanted to be an astronaut.
One evening, his grandfather gave him a small, old telescope. It didn’t look special, but to Leo, it was magical. Through it, he saw the Moon’s craters, shining stars, and even faraway planets. In those moments, he felt like he was already flying through space.
Soon, his room turned into a mini space station.
Leo built rockets from paper and cereal boxes. He drew colorful pictures of the solar system. And of course, he read every space book he could find.
At school, Leo told his classmates about his dream.
However, some kids laughed. “That’s way too hard,” they said.
But Leo didn’t give up. Instead, he imagined countdowns in his mind:
3… 2… 1… lift-off!
To get even closer to space, Leo wrote a letter to NASA. He added his best rocket drawings and lots of questions. Weeks passed. Then one day—surprise! A letter came back. Not just any letter, but one from a real astronaut.
It said:
“Big dreams start small, Leo. Keep going, and you can reach the stars.”
That short message meant the world to him.
From then on, Leo read it every night before bed. It filled him with hope and energy.
He didn’t stop there. He started a space club at school and built a small robot car for the science fair. He didn’t win, but his teacher was impressed. She even invited him to visit a real observatory.
Looking through a giant telescope for the first time, Leo saw Saturn’s rings. They shimmered like magic. He couldn’t speak—his heart was too full.
That night, Leo didn’t just see space. He felt it.
Now, Leo keeps learning, building, and dreaming. His journey has only just begun.
